Corruption
Corruption
Well, corruption is something that is a slur on the crest of our nation and it is high time we should overcome the "Jee Hazuri" and "Mithai" days and work together efficiently and take an oath to fight against the corruption at all the levels and make sure that at least we do not succumb to the so called "necessary evil" at any time of our crusade. Just think about it for once, the kind of relaxation and peace of mind would we get when some one acknowledges our honesty and at the end of the day when your head touches the pillow at night you can proudly proclaim that you are an honest citizen, government servant and a proud family man.
The mess of corruption cannot be washed away in a single go, it needs to be removed just the way it had creeped into our systems -slow and steady is the mantra.
What does a common man have to do with this?
The common man (read us) is the main forerunner of the crusade because the awakening has to start now and we know there are miles to be covered before we sleep. Suppose the society we live in would be a molecule then the common man would be its basic atom, and without the existence of the atom there would be no molecule (read society). So the common man has a huge and very important role to play in this action as he is the soldier, commander and the enemy himself.
What should be done?
For starters:
1. Corrupt officials should be named and caught.
2. Corruption should be reported.
3. Honest employees should be appreciated and decorated in public so that they can be an inspiration to one and all.
4. We at the grass root level should avoid bribery and remind the person that he is a public servant and we are tax payers (very politely)
5. We should not break the rules ourselves and give others to point a finger at us.
6. Use our rights and perform our fundamental duties religiously .
These are some basic steps what we can the common people(read citizens of the Republic of India)can do which may not entirely wipe out the corruption but I am sure it would provide an inspiration to our fellow countrymen so that they realize to change a system we have to change first.
A parting note:” It’s not the commander who wins the battles but the collective army which is victorious in the war.”
Unity is strength.
