Life in Gujarat...........

" Welcome to India, where the cows eat hay and we drive autorickhaws every where"

Life in Gujarat hmmmmmmmmmmmm, where do I start .........

I have put up somewhere near the S.V.P. Airport (International namesake, if you thought the airport at Amritsar was bad this airport will definately change your defination of bad. (Hint:Stray cattle lol ;-) . )I finally got my training all fixed up at T.C.S. Ahmedabad without any jeck. I had to clear a aptitude test( the logical reasoning was real tough though.)

Life in Ahmedabad is not exactly a peace of cake, though till now I have not suffered problems regarding residence or transportation thanx to my relations here. The core problem I have to face here is the language barrier and food (these guys use sugar even in samosas ,I hope you do get the picture) no spices and taste is derogatory to your tastebuds.

The T.C.S. office is located at Sakar II (this is the name of the building) on the 8th floor (the lift seldom works) I have been given a make shift cubical whose location changes with each comming day. lol. I am working here on a website development project . I have an eight hour shift here from 3-11pm without break(s) :-(. I have to work upon JSP,Servlet,HTML and Oracle 10g at least I know all the full forms now lol. We all are given IBM(think centre) to work, they are kinda low on RAM though (256 Mb.) We use two editors mainly the Edit plus and the Java- Eclipse, they make the work kind of easy (thanks to ergos ).

I am a part of a team which consists of about 25 members - java programers, dba s,data migration experts and the list goes on . I have been asked to get a certification ( Java or Oracle), since that is one of the company's eligibility criterions. The office is all blue and gray ( that is the interiors) , the staff is primarily Gujarati, they do seem to be a help ful bunch of people , So far so good.

We have a " Hot Indian Masala" look alike in the office only she is much hotter ;-)

Life in the Indian Army is worth living , I have been giving some serious thoughts about giving some preliminary tests as well. MBA will have to wait till the next year but trust me I will bell the CAT , talking about the CAT , I met Arash, we were classmates in Gian Jyoti(GJPS) he is at IIM Ahmedabad , he has changed alot , a hardcore optimist with a straight forward approach towards life , if you ever feel low or confused about your life you know whom to contact.

Gotta go, my work beckons me.

This had to be here....................

Father passing by his teenage daughter's bedroom was
astonished to see the bed was nicely made and
everything was neat and tidy. Then he saw an
envelope propped up prominently on the centre of the
pillow. It was addressed

"Dad". With the worst premonition, he opened the
envelope and read the
letter with trembling hands:-

Dear Dad,

It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing
you, but I'm leaving home. I had to elope with my new
boyfriend Randy because I wanted to avoid a scene with
Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Randy
and he is so nice to me. I know when you meet him
you'll like him too - even with all his piercing,
tattoos, and motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the
passion Dad, I'm pregnant and Randy said that he wants
me to have the kid and that we can be very happy
together. Even though Randy is much older than me
(anyway,42 isn't so old these days is it?), and has no
money, really these things shouldn't stand in the way
of our relationship, don't you agree?

Randy has a great CD collection; he already owns a
trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for
the whole winter. It's true he has other girlfriends
as well but I know he'll be faithful to me in his own
way. He wants to have many more children with me and
that's now one of my dreams too. Randy taught me that
marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and he'll be
growing it for us and we'll trade it with our friends
for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the
meantime, we'll pray that science will find a
cure for AIDS so Randy can get better; he sure
deserves it!!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how
to take care of myself.
Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get
to know your grandchildren.

Your loving daughter,
Rosie.

At the bottom of the page were the letters "PTO".
Hands still trembling, her
father turned the sheet, and read:

PS: Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at the
neighbour's house. I just wanted to remind you that
there are worse things in life than my report card
that's in my desk centre drawer. Please sign it and
call when it is safe for me to come home.

05.07.2006

As I type in United States of America would be giving finishing touches to its Independence day celebrations ,at his very moment, guess it pays to be in the East to be ahead in time lolz. Well I just woke from a comfy sleep to a magnificent and splendid morning, elation surrounds me. Yes! I am in a wonderful mood right now. My broadband has become functional after a tedious dreary long wait, I an W.S's words "ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL" OR as L.P. would put in "IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER" .

Today is Crappie's B'day, we have already exchanged texts but still the want of free food haunts me, guess he still owes a party and does not repeat the Hardy's Act of 2005 . Talking about Hardy,Hardy and I have been in constant touch over the phone and H.H. (read as His Horniness lol) often over does things,a nice guy though and I must compliment the guy on his good look s and the poise he carries himself with.( A through Gentleman)

Of late Lionel Richie an I have been best buddies, his tracks have been present religiously on my Winamp(version 5.21 full bundle ) and I have been doing justice to them be listening to them iteratively again and again............ Hello by Lionel Richie is just awesome ,definately worth listening. Carrying on the ramblings, I stumbled upon Sim L's blog , my first impression was -"Yet another blog, another individual hit by the fad", but after going through her blog , she did what she is known for , proving me wrong (again), lol( to be taken in the lighter vein), she surely does know what she is writing about. Her knowledge, interest and ardour for Rock bands and enthusiasm for the game is worth an ovation , way to go lassie.

I have been quite confused about my training and I am having troubles in taking the right decisions, what will it be Punjab Infotech, IDS or others. What would my Major project be - software development or networking or hardware only the time will tell. Que sera sera whatever will be will be the future's not ours ,to see ........... Que sera sera.
Peace
Jeet

Before I leave I would like to leave you with these lyrics, courtsey Lionel Richie-

Hello

I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door
Hello, is it me you're looking for?

I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted, (and) my arms are open wide
'Cause you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much, I love you ...

I long to see the sunlight in your hair
And tell you time and time again how much I care
Sometimes I feel my heart will overflow
Hello, I've just got to let you know

'Cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely, or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying, I love you ...

Hello, is it me you're looking for?
'Cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying ... I love you
